The decision
The AI only steps in after an explicit interest, and never sends
Ingestion calls Sirene once a day for every account; the feed is ordered by official activity codes, newest first, with no scoring at all. The language model only comes in once a company has been kept, never during import or sorting. It receives the strict minimum: the user's trade and value proposition, then the company's name, activity, city and creation date. Nothing else is looked up, on the web or on social networks, and no email address is guessed: the message opens in Gmail with an empty recipient, and the user sends it from their own mailbox. This choice bounds the cost of every account, and it closes the door on the usual drifts of the trade: guessed addresses, data collected behind people's backs, and automated sending.
The problem
When a company starts trading, many choices of suppliers, tools and partners are still open. Spotting these creations in time means watching the official registry every day, filtering by activity, discarding what must not be disclosed, then writing a first message that does not read like a mail merge. The usual prospecting tools do the opposite: lists of established companies, enriched with data scraped from the web, and bulk sending.
My role
Solo, end to end: Sirene ingestion, data model and access rules, feed and interface, message generation, billing, deployment.
What was hard
The company registry contains people. For a sole trader, the name recorded in the registry is their first and last name. It is never passed to the model, and the trade name is discarded too as soon as an automatic rule finds that first and last name in it. The rule does not recognise every case: initials, a compound first name written with a space instead of a hyphen. The product's home page says so in plain words rather than implying complete protection. It is the most interesting difficulty of the project because, at bottom, it is not technical: public data can still be personal data, and the rule's limit is part of the product.
Where it stands
Live, free to use: the feed, targeting and message drafting are open. The paid offer exists in the code, billing included, but is not open to the public. The product keeps evolving, and was called Whos until October 2026.
